For over thirty years, Granizo spent a great deal of time at the Steinhart Aquarium. Fish was a fascination of his and you will see fish many of his murals. He became close friends with Dr. Earl S. Herald who was the curator there for many years. Granizo designed and donated many mosaics and murals to the aquarium over the years. When the aquarium was remodeled, many of the mosaics could not be salvaged but some of his works still remain.
The mosaic above on the left was the first mosaic donated in the 50's. It was a made of Venetian glass tiles. The second one one the right represents part of the many rock and glass murals that were donated in the 60's. Below are the some of the small tile paintings that still remain in the aquarium today.
