Photos in Granizo's Life
Utah Beach, Normandy France
Picture
photo b:y Ron Wagner
During World War II, Bill Wagner Granizo was drafted in the Army along with his brother Jerry.  Jerry was sent to the South Pacific and Bill to Normandy.  Upon landing at Utah Beach he was immediately hit with shrapnel and almost died on the beach.   Fortunately, the medics were coming back on the beach and found him laying there.  He was given the last rights three times but survived  after spending four years in the hospital.
He never forgot that day on the beach.  His creativity blossomed from that day
forward..
