Under the direction of Dr. Eugene Garfield, Founder of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) in Philadelphia, Pa., a 14,000 square foot building was built adjacent to ISI's headquarters. This facility was built as a children's care and learning center and was considered among the best day-care centers for children in Philadelphia,
Dr. Garfield wanted to create an art exhibit within the center that was specifically designed for children. He commissioned Granizo to create colorful murals both inside and outside the facility. Granizo called the project "Cathedral of Man" (See images below.)
Garfield and Granizo later became close friends and was the first person to create the first website about Granizo's illustrated autobiography which can be found under the Autobiography tab on this site. On the Autobiography tab there is link to the entire Autobiography Collection.
